ELECTRIC MOTOR TECHNICIAN (SPINDLES) COMPLEXITY LEVEL 1, 2 AND 3
Immediate superior: Workshop manager
Hours: 40 hr/week
Under the supervision of the workshop manager, the incumbent must identify and propose correctly and proactively the appropriate solution to solve the Electric Motor (Spindle) in question. Upon approval, they would then carry out the motor overhaul in an effective, efficient and timely manner.

Indoor working conditions at our facility in Granby, Quebec
DEC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent work experience
Customer driven environment
Technically competent analysis skills
Attention to detail
Ability to focus / concentrate for extended periods of time
Resourceful and able to work with limited supervision
Experience in high-precision mechanics (Asset)
In-depth knowledge of material performance limits (Asset)
Level 1 Technician Beginning and learning level
Experience required in electric motor repair: 0
The tasks are of a routine nature and the technician progressively fulfills the responsibilities of the position. The autonomy at work is restricted and its tasks are done according to the detailed instructions of another person.
Level 2 Technician Standalone operation
Experience required in electric motor repair: 4
The technician performs the tasks independently. They can perform technical support and analytical functions where they are called upon to make recommendations. They work under the general supervision of an immediate superior who ensures that the quality and compliance with our standards are met.
Level 3 Technician Specialist
Experience required in electric motor repair: 8
The technician, as an expert provides strategic direction for complex work and analysis. These works are distinguished by their exceptional or unusual nature, which have a major impact on the company. The level 3 technician performs repairs on metal Spindles of all types and brands and provides a mentor/coaching role for the training of the next generation.
Perform visual inspection and preliminary tests to determine the
diagnoses of the engine problem(s);
Disassemble the motor according to the company's quality standards;
Carry out measurements and tolerances of the motor;
Prepare the various requisitions necessary to create the estimate for the customer;
Perform the motor overhaul;
Perform final testing and run-in to ensure the engine is operating at peak performance;
Perform any other related tasks requested by their immediate supervisor.
